Communication:  All announcements, changes, etc. will be communicated by email, so make sure we have an active, accurate email address for both player and parent(s).  All messages sent to players' emails are also sent to parents' emails.   On occasion, a message is sent just to parents.  Many emailed announcements will then be placed on the website (www.manuallax.com) along with directions, numeric rosters, etc.

Schedule:     Practice starts Feb 19.  Games start the first or second week of March.  We will also practice at least two of the Saturdays before games start.  Some indoor practices will be scheduled if weather requires it.  Once the season starts, expect four practices a week and games an average of twice a week. The calendar will be posted on the website and updated throughout the season. As of right now, practice times and locations are:
Monday, 3-5:30, Churchill Park - near UofL lacrosse field/Papa John’s Stadium)
Tuesdays – 4:30-6:45 at Hays Kennedy Park – Prospect –until games start
Wednesday – 4:30-6:45 at Hays Kennedy Park – Prospect –see website for directions
Thursdays - 3-5:30, Churchill Park - near UofL lacrosse field/Papa John’s Stadium)
Fridays - 4:30-6:45 at Hays Kennedy Park – Prospect –see website for directions
There will be an activity bus from school to Churchill Park Mon and Fri.  Pick up is family responsibility.  All other days dates, games, etc. are parent responsibility.  We may use a commercial bus for a longer out of town trip.

Travel:  Varsity players should plan on making at least three road trips this year.  Birmingham March 29 and 30, Cincinnati May 3,4 (Derby weekend), and at least one or two day trips, prob. to Cincinnati and/or St. Louis.  JV players should plan on at least one day trip to Cincinnati and the Cincinnati Laxfest if possible (Derby weekend).

Playing Time:  As in the past, playing time will be allocated based on attendance, effort, and ability.  Players are expected to sign-in at all meetings, practices, and road trips.

Teams: We will field a varsity and JV team.  If numbers permit, we may field a developmental team as well.  In the past we have not made cuts, but it may be necessary.

Registration and Communication:
All players should register via our website (www.manuallax.com). You must register, pay all fees, download, print and return all forms, and return a parent-signed U.S. Lacrosse form before playing.   If you are a new player or if your email has changed you must send an email to the coach (Steve Auden) at magidoc@yahoo.com stating your intention to play.  This is so you can be added to the communication list and kept up to date.

Expenses:
$150 registration.  Additional players in the same family pay a reduced fee of $135.
Two other checks will also be required: $75 booster club fee and $100 uniform deposit. If you
work fund-raisers and earn money, the booster club fee will be returned in part or in total.
Excess earnings will go into your individual account to defray expenses for roadtrips, etc. If you return your uniform (clean, labeled, and in a clear zip-lock bag), the uniform deposit will be refunded. There will be a partial charge for lost items.
Players going to out of town games may have additional (food, hotel) expenses.  These expenses may or may not include registration fees. Make all checks payable to Manual Lacrosse Boosters.
Do not send fees directly to U.S. Lacrosse.  We will register with U.S. Lacrosse as a group.  All US Lacrosse and Ky Lacrosse Assn fees are included in your registration fee.
In addition to the above, there are some fees mandated by and paid to the school – try-out fee, trainer fee, and insurance fee for total of $40.  If you play another Manual sport you do NOT pay again.
Refunds:  Pro-rated registration refunds will be available as follows:
              Till Feb 28, full refund
              March 15, less $60
  March 15 to March 30 less $110
There will be no registration fee refunds after March 30.
Booster club fee is refundable in full till April 5.  There will be no refunds after that date.
Uniform deposits are refundable at any time up to June 15.  There will be a replacement
charge for lost items.

Equipment:  See “equipment” at www.manuallax.com

Questions:  Please direct your questions to the coaches (Steve Auden) by email magidoc@yahoo.com or by phone 228-2628.
Our Priorities:  Safety, Respect, Effort, Fun
We will make every effort to keep things safe
We expect players to be attentive and respectful to us, to any adult who is helping to coach, and to officials.
Players are teammates.  Pointing out deficiencies in play is our job.   We expect teammates to cheer each other's successes and forget each other's errors and shortcomings
We extend effort, we demand effort.
Lacrosse is the best sport there is.  It is fun at practice (usually) as well as games.

Complaints and Grievances:  (players or parents) If you are not having fun, talk to us.  If you feel something is unfair, talk to us.  If you are angry, talk to us.  But, talk to us in private, after the game or practice.
